so I drove to NYC yesterday (on vegetable oil) with my bicycle (on a rack on the back of the car). A comment someone made struck me; no parking meters on Sundays in NYC. So I parked on E65 and 2nd Ave and rode the bike to Central Park (south). Joined the march at 55th street and walked with my peeps to the Jacob Javits Center where we had a block party. I saw Bill McKibben, Mary Evelyn Tucker and folks I know from my work as a facilitator with the Awakening the Dreamer/Changing the Dream symposium (Pachamama Alliance) ( NewEngland Pachamamas). I had numerous wonderful conversations with like-minded people. I disagreed with a guy from Vermont that thought Wall Street serves a useful purpose, but all the trading (of financial abstractions) is the problem (that is a problem, but they dont serve any useful purpose regardless). Then I rode from Javitz Center, 36th and 11th, to my car as the light of the day faded. Riding a bicycle in NYC is the balls.
