Undoubtedly he is a bad ass, however, to me his studio records are lacking the heart & soul & grit & fuzz that I want to hear out of a blues player. I blame the Warner Bros./major label production and way of thinking on slicking up artists like this and taking the emotion out of it. Enter this album. Everything I suspected with the canned studio tones now vacated. If youre into Gary Clark, Jr. or bad ass blues guitarists in general, check this out.
