some common questions that are asked are, why are we here? why did God make us? what was His purpose for it? these are questions we have asked over and over throughout time. and many have never had an answer to them. I mean, after all, God didnt need to make us. with, or without us, He would continue to exist. its not like Hes dependent upon us to survive. we could have never been created, and God still would be here, and none worse the wear for it. so why did He make us? the simple answer I believe is, love. God is love my friends, it is His very being. and we are an extension of that love. we are a product of love. we by our very existence, are an expression of His love, and a part of it. we are parts of Him. much like when two people who love each other have children. those children are a result, and representation of that love. and we are the result of Gods love. we are His children. we are the result of His wish to show His love throughout all creation. like children, we are living piece of Him that is meant to represent a unique part of Him, in the way we love, and laugh, and live. although thanks to sin that has been distorted. but nonetheless, because we come from love, from Gods love, we are forever a part of Him and His love. and no matter what happens, because of that, He will never stop loving us. He will never stop being there for us. we are His prized creation, His greatest miracle, His precious jewel. and like any loving Father, He will always be there for us. He will never fail us, or allow us to fall. He will rescue us from harm and heal us when we fall. He will never give up on us. He will never forsake us. so, if you were wondering why God made us, the simple answer is that to do otherwise, would be to withhold His love, and that is something God refuses to do with such a precious a gift. in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen. 26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” 27 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” 29 Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. 30 And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened. 31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!-Genesis 1:26-31(NLT) 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” 18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” 19 Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.-Genesis 2:15-24(ESV) If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.-1 Corinthians 13(ESV) And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.-Colossians 3:14(ESV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”-John 13:34-35(ESV) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.-1 John 4:7(ESV) Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”-Deuteronomy 31:6(ESV) 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.-John 3:16-17(ESV)
