Please support my friend project: kickstarter/projects/593383308/hindi-yatras Within a project I want to create a photo narrative about Hindu pilgrimages taking place in Himalaya.Yatra means pilgrimage in Hindi. In Hindusim the places gain meaning thanks to the stories created, promoted and connected to the specific geographical spaces (rivers, lakes, mountains). Hindus perceive the Himalayas as highly sacred, as a metaphor for seeing God in every atom of the universe. In order to prepare in - depth photo narrative on Hindu Yatras we will work with the local community of Syabru Bensi village in Nepal in a participatory setting as well as we will make traditional documentary photography essays during Gosaikunda Yatra and Nanda Devi Raj Yatra. The outcome of the project will be a mobile exhibition, a photo book and a multimedia presentation of the material collected. All the collected money will go towards covering the costs of preparation of the pictures: Our tickets to Asia, costs of internal travels, costs of hiring local guides for Yatras and a translator. So far we have secured half of the funds needed but we still searching for the rest.
