they had a dharna today dude.... they were saying theyd do all their file clearances n all that at the venue itself, so the government continues to function. Theyre having a sit-in. Kejriwals planning to spend the night there.... you have to admire their determination, and their belief in their cause : but their ministers are completely clueless when it comes to behaving in public and in front of the media, their language unnecessarily harsh and polarizing. You have to wonder why the media would want to portray them in a positive light after kejriwals interviews in which he consistently talks down to people like rajdeep sardesai, treating him as part of the aristocracy. If the Delhi police were even to come under the Delhi govt, you would have to wonder to what effect they would want to co-operate with him now, given the manner in which hes insulted the force as a whole.theres too much vitriol going around : a successful peoples movement needs to be about reconciliation and cross-partisan partnership : were fighting for public services and against corruption, not to abolish slavery or to end apartheid.... tone the rhetoric down. glad ur not looking for an argument ... wish anyone had a definitive answer for that question : but slandering everyone in sight isnt the way to do it. The people of India already deeply mistrust every public servant : they dont need an AAP to remind them that everyones corrupt ... I dont mind the dharna in itself, as long as theres a long-term strategy in place for whatll happen if the centre doesnt budge.... There is no way the central govt can devolve complete power over the police to the Delhi government, considering that it is the national capital and parliament is there. The calls for suspension are valid, and i support them on that : That being said, Somnath Bharti also deserves a suspension for his ridiculously inappropriate language and the possibility that he could influence the enquiry just like the police officers in question could! ..... When your party promises systemic change, it shouldnt rush into it and try to achieve it in 2 weeks : any solution that comes out through that sort of hurry will only be worse than the original problem. You can stand on either side of the debate over the AAP : The protest may seem frivolous to some, but you must wonder the desperation a CM must feel in order to hold a dharna when IN power! No CM in his right mind would OPT to look powerless and out of his mind by choosing to protests in the streets over throwing the weight of his office around, clearly suggesting that the diplomatic approach likely hasnt worked in his days in power thus far. That being said, Kejriwal n co are being naive in the way they deal with the media, the police and everyone else that a successful government needs to forge successful ties with : Slandering your opponents through ill-chosen words and painting them as the other, and you the sole representative of the people - Thats how Fascist movements are born! #Legendary
