through studying the books of Acts and using Exegesis and Hermeneutics, I have discovered the purpose of the book of Acts. My original thought was to show that the early church was the model of what all future churches should be. But the main purpose of why Luke wrote the book was to show the readers how the early church began with Jewish roots and traditions and how after Jesus returned to heaven that the Holy Spirit continued the work of Christ. The Good news gospel was then extended to include not only Jews, but also Gentiles and the recording of history shows how the gospel was spread from Jerusalem to Rome. Peter led the early church and after Paul was converted the gospel was able to spread.
