tonight I lost my voice shouting through the streets of downtown Portland in the protest of mike browns death and the police brutality of blacks in America and beyond. we chanted what do we want - justice! when do we want it - now! hands up - dont shoot! no justice no peace, no racist police! and a few others. as this was my first protest I dont know if it was large or small but we were loud and really made our presence known. there were about 200 people marching at most Id say, but I will be at the next big one this Saturday to keep using and losing my voice for a cause that I see just. cops, reporters, helicopters, and riot police followed us from block to block as we chanted. we made a difference in this community and we will continue to do so until we see change. I wanna see more people at these protests. because I know more than 200 people in Portland actually care.
