tonight i have a woman in my thoughts. i do not know her but i am saying a prayer for her. i went for a walk at lunch and stopped by the portage place and bay entrance. she was sitting on the heater crying. it was heartbreaking. she was homeless. and pregnant. and sick. i sat down immediately and asked her if she was ok. she wasnt. she thought she had pneumonia and said she wanted to give up. she couldnt take it anymore. she had no one. she had nothing. she had no place to stay and was waiting to hear from anyone she texted to see if she could go to their home to rest. she just didnt know what to do. i begged her to never give up. to fight for her baby. i told her i was there and knew how she was feeling. albeit not in her shoes, i too have wanted to give up. she said she had just been through so much she just wanted to go away forever. i told her people care. i wished i could have taken her home with me. i had a vision of keeping her. she was 29 and had other kids and i told her to fight for them too. she looked normal. she did not look homeless but then again, theres me stereotyping. she looked like us. i called my friend i didnt know what else to do. she spoke to her and then told me to give her the number for sonrise village. i also gave her mine. and told her to feed her baby and eat i gave her a $10 lotto ticket she looked genuinely shocked. i made her promise to let me know she was ok and when she got up she had a very difficult time even walking no she never asked me for money and if this woman was lying she was the most amazing actress i have ever seen in my life. please do NOT walk away from someone if you see them in need you never know if you may be the last person that could have made a difference dear lord i hope i made a difference.
