Investing in our future: research and training in the Namib Sand Sea This two-day excursion to the Gobabeb Research and Training Centre will coincide with their annual Open Day. Student projects and presentations, research activities, community use of natural resources will be the highlights while various competitions and games will help interpret arid Namibia. Day and night walks into the Namib Sand Sea, Namibia’s newest World Heritage Site, are on the programme. The GobaDash bicycle race and GobaAdventure cycle tour will also take place that weekend (Sign up early and directly with the Coastal Cycling Club of Namibia if you want to participate.) Gobabeb is a joint venture of the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia and the Ministry of Environment and tourism and cooperates with a wide-ranging array of researchers and educators throughout the world. Dates: 21 - 22 September Time: 07:00 (21st Sept) – 19:00 (22nd Sept) (approximately) Number of participants: 30 min. to 60 max. Travel will be by bus (approximately 4 hours each way) and walking (sturdy shoes & hat recommended). Weather can be hot or cold. Transport, food and accommodation, tents or sharing rooms, is included (please inform about any special dietary requirements)
