Or is it because he looked black and scary and therefore probably older? It is not OK to shoot children just because your idiot primate brain categorized them as a threat in the first half second that you saw them. I realize its an unconscious thing but if you are entrusted with the incredible deadly power of being a police officer than we the people have the right and the duty to demand that you exercise better judgement, even if it means taking on the slight risk of not immediately shooting someone who you think might be threatening you with a gun. This kid had NO time to actually take the (not real) weapon out and put it down as ordered before the cop freaked out and shot him.
