what if we invested in public transportation infrastructure instead of stockpiling local police departments with military equipment? maybe its just me, but I think construction workers and transit operators are less likely to channels their money into vacations homes, expense accounts, and offshore bank accounts and MORE LIKELY to spend it at the local businesses that would channel those funds to their employees and back into their communities.
