when there are so many puppies there are also problems. I planned a nice Sunday, meaning that I could clean the yard of accumulated poop during the last few days when I was running around and doing the neutering. as it so well said : all the best laid plans ...... mine went to pieces when I noticed some ugly spots on a puppy, then on another and another and that the eye of Falbala is full of puss and looking real bad and that Angel coughed a couple of times. Oh, and the cat of my neighbour who was in a fight and had such a bad infection that was not 'noticed' by his owner but it was foul smelling and full of green puss !!!!! I filled the car with cages on top of each other (I think I need a van !!!!!) and with the passengers expressing their total displeasure of being taken on a ride in cages I got to Paula. Falbala was the first, she has ingrown lashes that scarred her retina and she lost her eye, it is already opaque ! she was born with this and since the moment she opened her eye and until I rescued her she suffered the pain of those lashes scratching her eye ! Surgery is needed to remove a part of the eyelid and the lashes ! but she needs more time she is too frail now, just dewormed and no vaccine. the three puppies had their skin scratched and a sample looked at under microscope they have all demodecia and are now in isolation and under treatment. Angel has only laryngitis, running, barking, drinking cold water ! she is on cough medication, not allowed to go out and told constantly to sit quiet ! the tomcat was done 'pro bono' by Paula, she knows my neighbour very well so she did all the treatment for free !!!! and that was the Sunday, a day well spent ! carmen
