youtu.be/TIBLSsnPDzk Alexandra Gillio, a 2011 Academy graduate, challenged the SJA administrative team to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Assistant Principals Sheri Gillio (Alexandra’s mom) and Stacia Andricain were given 48 hours to complete the challenge or donate $50. The assistant principals were up to the task and were drenched with ice water after school today in memory of Kevin Kelty, father of Emily Kelty, class of 2011. SJA’s administrators issued their own Ice Bucket Challenge to the CHS administration. As of today (August 18), the ALS Association has received $15.6 million in donations since July 29 compared to $1.8 million during the same time period last year. Team Gleason, founded by former New Orleans Saints player and ALS patient Steve Gleason, is focused on making the lives of those with ALS better through technology and awareness of the disease.
