Писмото на английски To The National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party 20 Pozitano str. Sofia 1000 Bulgaria e-mail: [email protected] To The Central Council of the Movement for Rights and Liberties 45A Alexander Stamboliiski Sofia 1301 Bulgaria To Mr. Martin Schulz President of the EP Rue Wiertz 60 1047 Brussels, Belgium To Mr Thorbjørn Jagland Secretary General of the Council of Europe Conseil de l’Europe F-67075 Strasbourg Cedex France Ladies and Gentlemen from BSP (Bulgarian Socialist Party) and MRF (Movement for Rights and Freedoms - DPS), You have chosen for your personal Cerberus the psychologically unstable nationalist and fascist Volen Siderov. This individual is not only playing games with you and turning you into a laughing stock but is also delivering a deadly blow to your reputation, which is already put on the line by people’s peaceful protests. After he succeeds in ultimately tarnishing your reputation even in the eyes of your own voters, he will “blow up” the whole parliament and like a real political terrorist will revel at the destruction caused by his own madness. There is a thin red line of political compromise and you have crossed it by accepting the cooperation of this rampaging persona. In addition to all his other “democratic” feats, Volen Siderov is the author of two anti-Semitic books, one of which was republished just before the last elections. In them, on top of spreading cheap anti-Semitic clichés, Volen Siderov is brazenly denying the Holocaust and is calling for retributions towards Jews – “destroyers of the Bulgarian statehood”. Despite all those texts you, Ladies and Gentlemen from the so called Left, accept to cooperate with him – an act worthy of a trial in any government led by a normal leftist party. With your votes in Parliament he became a Chair of the Anti-Corruption Committee in the Bulgarian Parliament and thanks to his vote you can continue to be in power. Your silence in regards to the open anti-Semitism of Volen Siderov and his party, “Attack”, makes you an accessory to his views. This is unacceptable. This alone is ground enough for a government, which has turned itself into an accessory to an anti-Semite, nationalist and xenophobe, to resign immediately, in order to avoid international isolation. We hope that you will reexamine your position and make a right choice of dignity and reason and will isolate Siderov and his party from the political life in our country. Siderov and his ideology belong to the past and his place is not in the line of the democratic parties. 29th June 2013 Sofia Signatures: 1. Lea Cohen - Diplomat and Writer 2.
