早前接受香港電台 radio 3 的訪問後,收到一位素不相識的聽眾電郵,向我抒發他在佔中現場的體驗及一些真切感受。 這位聽眾是居港多年的英國人,我徵求得他的同意後,將其現場親身經歷的感受,節錄其中兩段如下,與各位分享 : I heard your comments today while listening to radio 3 and your views on the police response and illegal occupation of public space. I would like to express my views witnessing the demonstrations yesterday. Firstly, Im saddened that HK has come to this and the international media sensationalising what really happened. What I witnessed from what Emily Lau & Lee Chuk Yan has called totally innocent and peaceful students shocked me. I am for democracy and freedom in HK for which we have a great degree of already. But what I witnessed was the only restraint and order came from our police force. I was repulsed when I saw a local middle aged lady looking annoyed trying to get pass the thousands of students (mostly) and asking them to move out the way in a reasonable way after all it is public space, the response from a group of students was to swear at her and jeer her in Cantonese to the tone of f-ing your family members. She was clearly startled and was under stress at the time, being confronted by the group of innocent students as they were under the impression she was against them for asking them to move. I really wanted to give them a lecture but would have also probably been swarmed & sworn at repeatedly. I would have done something should they have physically kicked or shoved her. Secondly, the innocent students were highly charged and aggressive towards the police with non-stop swearing again f-their family members, throwing empty plastic bottles at them and trying to antagonise them before charging at them. It was a total mob rules mentality. I totally lost sympathy for them after seeing this disgrace and the police had no choice to use tear gas to scatter them.
