[하누이야기] 반기문 유엔사무총장, 김용 세계은행 총재 우간다 방문 The UN Secretary-General and the President of the World Bank on official visit. 지난 24일, 반기문 유엔사무총장 및 김용 세계은행 총재는 최초 공동으로 우간다를 방문하였습니다. 콩고와 르완다를 거쳐 우간다에 도착하여 무세베니 대통령과 회담을 가졌습니다. 반기문 사무총장은 소말리아 평화유지에 우간다의 역할과 노력에 사의를 표명하였습니다 (우간다는 소말리아 평화유지군 만 여명 파병). 김용 세계은행 총재는 우간다의 건실한 재정정책을 높이 평가하였고, 무세베니 대통령은 세계은행의 여러 빈곤퇴치 프로그램에 감사의 뜻을 전하였습니다. 아래 링크는 방문 관련 현지 언론보도입니다. :) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Dr. Jim Yong Kim arrived in Uganda after visit to Rwanda and Goma in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The UN chief hailed Uganda for taking up the mantle of ensuring that peace prevails in the Great Lakes region. “I thank Uganda for making sure that peace returns in Somalia and I will rely on you (Uganda) for the necessary support for a peaceful Somalia,” Ban said. At a joint news conference held at State House Entebbe, President Yoweri Museveni thanked the World Bank for supporting Uganda’s development programmes geared towards eradicating poverty.
