-» ANSWERING CHRISTIANS STONE KISSING AND IDOLATRY !!! •••••••••••••••••••••••• The act of fixing a stone to mark a place of worship is as old as history. In the Bible we are told that Jacob, on whom be peace, had fixed a stone at a place where he saw a vision. He poured oil on it and called it Bethel meaning house of God (see Genesis 28:18). He did this again upon Gods instruction (see Genesis 35:1, 14, 15). No one should understand from this that God instructed Jacob to worship the stone. Then God said to Jacob, Go up to Bethel and settle there, and build an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you were fleeing from your brother Esau. (Genesis 35:1) Jacob set up a stone pillar at the place where God had talked with him, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it. Jacob called the place where God had talked with him Bethel. (Verses 14-15) The verses are self-explanatory, Jacob never worshipped the pillar which he made with his own hands, yet he poured oil and made a “drink offering”. Umar did not kiss the stone as reverence for its lifeless substance; he kissed the stone because it’s an object out of Paradise, whether he quoted 21:66 knowingly or not, Umar’s intention was purely spiritual, not physical or materialistic. There is nothing physical about kissing a stone, it’s a spiritual act. The Kaaba was built to establish the worship of One God, the Temple was built for the same reason, but God is above the Heavens. Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil oer the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds! (Al-Quran 7:54) We worship Allah (God) is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord. (Al-Quran 13:2) The verses are self-explanatory, Jacob never worshipped the pillar which he made with his own hands, yet he poured oil and made a “drink offering”. The Prophet respected the Black stone because God gave it as a gift to mark the place of Tawaaf; he never glorified the stone by pouring oil. So these Prophets are not guilty of idolatry, only a fool would believe that.
