--DAMASCUS, SYRIA...heap of ruins??? Damascus Syria is listed second on a list of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on earth! Could it be that we are observing Bible prophecy being fulfilled right in front of our eyes concerning Damascus, Syria ?? Bible prophecy written over 2,500 years ago, foretells that Damascus, the Capital of Syria, will eventually become a HEAP OF RUINS !! Bible prophecy has always proven true!...but after 25 centuries it would appear that the Bible may have ERRED on this one...OR HAS IT ?? God gave the promised land to Abrahams descendants, the full borders of which would (eventually) reach to the Euphrates River, encompassing most of modern day Syria including its capital, Damascus !! Israels ancient Northern border ended at the foot of Mt. Hermon as does its modern border approximately two hundred miles South of the Euphrates River. It would appear IMPOSSIBLE that Israel could extend its borders to reach the Euphrates!! The worlds nations would go berserk at such a thing and would surely not allow it...seeing the hissy-fit (tantrum) being thrown concerning the Israeli controlled West Bank!! If you have been following the developments concerning Syrias ongoing Civil War then you are aware of the fact that Damascus the Capital has been almost entirely emptied of its inhabitants and the City has been bombed just short of a HEAP OF RUINS. Here are possible scenarios of how Syrias civil war could play out : #1...The civil war could continue until Damascus is totally turned into a heap of ruins ! #2... Syria could provoke Israel in some manner causing Israel too finish off Damascus bringing it to a heap of ruins ! #3...??? ONE THING IS CERTAIN, GOD WILL GIVE ALL THE PROMISED LAND TO ISRAEL IN DUE TIME...WITH OR WITHOUT THE WORLDS APPROVAL!!! How exciting and faith strengthening too see Bible prophecy being fulfilled in modern times !! If you are of the same mind as I, you look forward with anticipation to the final act...the introduction of GODS KINGDOM !!
