01/04/2007 - It was no April Fools at Westport! 3 x Mk2 sets, a timber, 076, 077, 087 & 215 all at the same time! 087 worked the timber to Westport on the Saturday and was stabled for the weekend. 215 worked the 10:35 Athlone - Westport and its train of Mk2s is now boarding on the main platform, with a well know TTC keeping an eye on proceedings! 077 worked the 16:15 Heuston - Ballina Friday Only. On Saturdays it stabled in Claremorris and on Sundays went ECS to Westport, to work the 15:30 Westport - Dublin. 076 making things interesting this particular Sunday was tasked with a rake of Mk2s to operate a 10:30 Heuston - Castlebar / 17:25 Castlebar - Heuston GAA special. This had 3 of the 5 remaining Mk2 sets in service in Westport at the same time! To get around the lack of space, as you can see 077 detached from its train on arrival, and ran onto of the timber. When 076 arrived, it coupled up to the Mk2 set in front and shunted its train and the set in front forward to clear the points behind, so 215 could depart with the 14:25 to Dublin. Some more shunting and everything was back in place for their respective services back to Dublin!
