01/10/14 SGT DREW M. SCOBIE (25) USA/AFG Sgt Scobie lost his life when his aircraft crashed at Bagram Airfield, in Parwan Province, Afghanistan. The cause of the incident is under investigation. Sgt Scobie provided valuable protection for our ground troops thru his work as a Fire Direction Operator aboard MC-12 surveillance aircraft. Eyes in the Sky sensors and cameras locate explosive devices, spot insurgent threats, provide route clearance and guide troops thru villages. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Sgt Scobie because of his work keeping our ground troops safe. Currently the information available is about his military career, and we wish knew more about him out of uniform. We do know he leaves behind his wife, his young son, an unborn baby, and a large loving family. Our Heroes deserve to be remembered beyond a date on the calender...we want to highlight the lives they left behind...We send our prayers and consolation to his family and friends.
