07.27.13_Food For Thought “The Alpha and Omega Is the Almighty” Revelation 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” By Dr. M.H. Salahshurian, Ph. D Once again, another weekend is here and we need to be prepared! There is a certain Cult that claims that Jesus never defended His own Deity by claiming that He is God! Further, they claim that Jesus and the New Testament never address the Lord Jesus as Almighty and they say Revelation 1:8 is referring to God the Father as Almighty! Reading from any authorized reliable Bible, including the King James Version, we find Jesus Himself stating (In Red) that He Is the “I AM”, that He existed from the beginning (Alpha), He Is the One “Who Was” from the beginning and “Is Now” and “He Will” come again as the Almighty! Now, the question is, who is He, that Almighty, who will come for His Church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) and come later to set up His millennial Reign as stated in Chapters Revelation 19 and 20? To me the answer is SO obvious! This verse alone, Revelation 1:8, negates the Cult understanding when they state that Jesus was CREATED, MADE to be the Lord, when He was born--alluding to Colossians 1:15. I believe it would be worth your time to scroll down and read it under the “Daily Devotions”. The Bible repeatedly addresses the Lord Jesus as being Omniscient and Omnipotent! What does Revelation 1:8, means to you? To me, it says that you and I were always in His mind, when He created us before the foundation of the world. SEE: Ephesians 1:4; 2 Timothy 1:9 and 2 Thessalonians 2:13! This also tells me that you and I were on His mind when He was hanging on the cross! He knew you by name, He was thinking of your name and He died for us, individually, by name! And, when He rose from the dead, still He had you on His mind!
