1. Consistently be productive! Follow the Pareto Rule: 20% effort with 80% results. This will entail setting priorities and taking charge of how we use time. This also means identifying habits and attitudes that cause us to waste time, and changing these to maximize our use of time. 2. Plan your day wisely. Make a to-do list and tick-off the items in a systematic manner. Accomplish the most important tasks first—high priority, high value projects and deadlines that are necessary to accomplishing your goals. Next, attend to the tasks that are urgent and important but less in priority and value. Third, give attention to the routine or mundane, but necessary tasks. Lastly, if there is still time left, attend to other tasks that are not urgent and important. These are tasks that, when done in the early part of the day, become time-wasters. 3. Organize your living and work space such that these allow for maximized and productive use of time. Create an environment with minimal clutter, where you have everything you need and need everything you have, all within easy reach. 4. Fight procrastination by taking any of the following actions—delete, delegate, chop up, set deadlines and yes, even take necessary breaks! Do whatever it takes to stay on schedule! 5. Keep a time record. Note how much time you use to accomplish your daily, weekly, etc tasks. Assess if you are managing your time effectively. Make the necessary adjustments to ensure you use time wisely and productively. Practice these 5 tips and see your time managed efficiently.
