1 JPAU at Work: Vision by SGT Hamish Paterson in Singapore. Exercise BERSAMA SHIELD 2014 (BS14) commenced on the 22 May, 2014 when Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom came together at Changi Naval Base, Singapore for introductory briefs and planning. Australia’s naval contribution to the exercise includes Royal Australian Navy Submarine HMAS Sheean and ADELAIDE Class Frigate, HMAS Sydney who have been preparing for the exercise at Sembawang Wharf, Singapore. The Royal Australian Air Force will operate two AP-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft, an E-7A Wedgetail and a KA350 King Air aircraft from Butterworth, Malaysia. EX BS14 is a two week, tri-service, exercise which will be conducted from 22 May – 05 Jun 14 within the Singapore- Malaysia Peninsular and South China Sea.
