Matthew Henry says in his commentary -- The higher esteem we have of our Redeemer the meaner opinion shall we have of the world . and less likely shall we be to be in love with it. Am I in love with the world ?________ We tend to boast about the things we love to others . In Gal. 6- 14 NLT Paul made this statement . As for me, God forbid that I should boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ . Because of that cross my interest in this world died long ago, and the world s interest in me is also long dead .
