1) Mexicans are all about PDA. They just cant seem to get enough of their significant others. Everywhere you look, there are people kissing, snuggling, embracing, etc. Ill be on the subway and there will be 3-4 people holding each other and kissing from time to time at any given point in each compartment. Seriously. The last time I was in the subway, it was so squished and I was right next to this dude. But apparently he felt comfortable enough to pull his girlfriend in and make out like 6 inches from my face. PDA in the parks, in the museums, restaurants, movie theatres. Hugging, caressing, kissing, you name it. Its everywhere and all the time essentially. Im not really hating. It was just surprising. And Ive asked some people about the culture and some seem to like it. They say that their culture is more friendly and loving, etc. Whenever a guy and a girl meet, most of them lean forward and kiss/air kiss each other on the side of the cheek. I was taken back when the first two girls did that to me but went with the flow afterwards. Some of the PDA can be sweet and romantic but others, I dunno, I kinda want to tell them to get a room for real. This song by John Legend is one of my favorites. Video is based in Brazil. I thought he was talking about PDA in general but maybe he was referencing Central/South American culture? I dunno, but enjoy the song. :) 2). Ive been at hostels for the last few days after couch surfing for the most of my trip. The great thing about hostels is that you get to meet other travelers. Ive been meeting so many people from European countries. Britains, Germans, Australians, other Latinos, Polish folk, and Swiss, in that decreasing order. Whats interesting about them is that most of them are traveling for like many months at a time. Like anywhere from 3 months to 14!! Holy Heck!! Im exhausted after 2 weeks! Most do between 3-4 months. Ive met a couple Americans and their trips are only as long as mine around 2-3 weeks. Theres definitely a cultural difference. One having to do with many Europeans getting a ridiculous more amount of vacation time. They kind of laughed at our lack of them. Many Australians work in mines where they make more than their already high min wages of like ~$17. These mines are in more rural areas and pay well. Many people work there for some time and then take many months off to travel. 3). Everyone and their mothers use WhatsApp here. I can see better why its so valuable for its social network. https://youtube/watch?v=ZwbNesQeods&feature=kp
