10-22-14 // Standby Crew- Station 2 // 1800-0600 Tonight Station 2 staffed Truck 2 and Engine 22, with 12 members staying overnight. Duty crews standby almost every night of the week across the department with each station hosting a different night. Were fortunate to have dedicated men and women who go above and beyond their required drills and training to provide a faster response to emergencies in the community. According to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) the average national response time from dispatch to arrival is about 10 minutes. Moyers Corners proudly averages response times around 6 minutes, beating the average by 4 minutes and faster in many cases. This rapid response is partially due to our dedicated standby crews who are able to respond immediately to incidents in the area. You may see the standby crews out in the community, getting dinner, driver training, or on various other details. Tonight our duty crew stopped at the new Stewarts for ice cream. Well have a crew there for their grand opening ceremony on the 24th as well, so be sure to stop by!
