10 REASONS GODS PEOPLE DONT PRAY! (As told by Jim George) 6.) Sinfulness We dont pray because we know weve done something wrong. In our hearts we know we need to talk to God about it, admit it, confess it, agree with Him that what we did was wrong. But because we feel guilty, we make another wrong choice and put off that heart-to-heart talk with God. So what should we do about our sins and failures? Make a choice to keep short accounts with God. Deal with sin as it comes up - on the spot - at the exact minute that you slip up and fail. Did you yell at your mom? Tell God that was wrong (and then tell your mom too). Were you mean to your brother or sister? The same thing goes for this too. Did you choose not to take the trash out and depend on Dad instead? Admit to God what you did, and (you guessed it) apologize to Dad. Any lies, laziness, lust, or cheating needs to be confessed and cleared with God. Once you have a clean slate with Him, youll be grateful for His forgiveness and want to talk to Him about everything in your life. Hes the one Person who will always listen, always forgive, and always show you the better way to live.
