10% of the general population suffer with plantar fasciitis. Treatment success is often variable. A recent patient within the clinic presented with what appeared to be Plantar Fasciitis. Unfortunately previous attempts with various therapists including soft tissue massage, stretching and strengthening made no difference to the symptoms. On examination the patient demonstrated a restricted straight leg raise with tenderness apparent along the medial plantar nerve within the sole of the foot and stiffness with the lumbar spine. Lumbar spine mobilisation and nerve mobilisation exercises was sufficient to vastly improve the patients symptoms and return them back to their hill walking hobby.
