#108: Respected Rector, Fact 1: I am a ridiculous chain smoker. Fact 2: I shall never ever quit smoking as it serves to be the petrol of my mind cum lungs and for my consummate grades in my courses. Nevertheless, I shall always buttress bans of smoking in public areas till eternal times. I really thank you for the decorative and acrid display of big announcement of SMOKING FREE CAMPUS square to someone who enters our campus. Appreciable Indeed! Its mandatory to perceive the good will behind this legislation by banning cigarette smoking in the H-12 campus as a measure to reinforce green air at times when tens of electricity generating machines and food-vendors are set up in the exact same campus, many of which are using toxic fuel for cooking and running the fans of our hostel rooms for 10-14 hours a day. Well, that’s not something objectionable. Let me prelude that such legislation should be there to ensure habitation of fresh air to our lungs, but only if such a legislation is equally enforced rather than merely a display of big warnings in this beautiful campus. The bitter tip of the iceberg is that I have encountered much of situations where a student smoking in this campus is equally entertained by the respectable security guards and even for something more than merely puffing fumes. What else to say, even some mediocre groups of guys have the leisure to smoke publicly in cafeterias, shall it be a matter of pride I suppose or shall it be a race of being the heartthrobs of might is right and that too when right is left. Why this duplicity? Why to claim loud shouts when in real our campus is not even a 10% smoking free zone? Should I prologue that the good words are only good in books and not at field? I am wondering where a consistency is in such a policy. This attractive campus looks hell ugly under such lame sign boards when in real no practice I see. Yes, the security guards are brave to fine a guest as he mistakenly crosses the 40 speed limit, but the same guards are vulnerable to guide students where to smoke, Bhai yaha mat piyo, Bhutto saab samnai karha hai, side pe ake kash laga lo! Those who smoke hath to smoke by all means. We are living in a world where pollution cannot be simply eradicated by banning cigarette and that too when all of the smokers equally smoke in this campus. The request is simple, either take steps to enforce this policy or please issue me a green card so that I can legally smoke wherever I want. As seeing other fellows smoking publicly before me produces quite an irritation in my lungs. I have started NASWAR especially when I am on walk out there in this campus to level up my nicotine content. For me smoking is banned in this campus. I was a NASWAR free gentleman when I entered NUST. I shall be a chain smoker and Naswarite as I get out of this campus. NUST owns considerable share to my expected doubled nicotine content. Yet I am equally composed to respect the law anywhere to prevent smoking publicly, I repeat and request, make the law work or simply remove these boards so that we could enjoy our fumes in this beautiful landscape of H-12. I hope you understood the desperateness of my lungs and mind as a result of this humble and sweet cry. I shall look forward to receive a special green card by the names of chain smokers to smoke anywhere we want. I shall also look forward more keenly if the smoke ban policy is strictly enforced and I shall be happy to see groups of chain smokers to go out to POLICE LINE for smoking and then to come back as a pure and classic gentlemen. Thank you very much!
