11/28 Hi Friends, Today I am 55 days old. These last few days have been very hard for my mommy. She is so very thankful for everybody that had helped support her and let her cry on their shoulder. I am current on antibiotics to treat the sepsis and UTI. I will need to be on these for 10-14 days. I had blood work again this morning to make sure the medicine is working now that they have determined the kind of germ I have. The results from day 2 of the lumbar puncture is still negative. I am hoping the next three 3 days will remain negative as well. The ultrasound results show that I also have mild hydronephrosis, which means my left kidney is slightly inflamed because I have a little urine in it. This could be caused from the UTI, in which case the antibiotics will clear it up--or the UTI could be caused by it, in which case we will have to follow up with a urologist and go from there once I get a little bigger. When I get close to going home, I will have to have another test just to make sure my urine isnt traveling backwards to the kidneys. To do this I will have a catheter put in and they will inject dye into my bladder and watch where it goes. My mommy says she is ready to get off of this roller coaster. On a good note, I was feeling good enough to try a few bottles yesterday and that is a step in the right direction. 11/29 Last night was bath night and weigh night. I gained 3 oz! Thats pretty good. I think I made my mommy very happy. I now weigh 2 pounds 4 oz. Please keep me and my mommy in your prayers.
