As the laughter dies down at some wags declaration that the current state labor leader is now considered an alternative Premier , her Deputy steps up to the cameras and announces 12 new labor policies . Still waiting to hear the details or even just what the basic policies cover . There is a real problem looming over any labor policy announcement ... labors ability to fund an alternative direction is mired in their past record of sheer economic incompetence .... their ingrained tendency to run the states credit card to the max . All in the cause of populism through lack of courage in addressing the fundamentals of state funding to implement policy. Not only has the current government had to look at raising revenues to fund their own policies ... they have also had to raise funds to service Labors $80 Billion of debt. Make no mistake ... a POPULAR government is a government which is failing to do the job it was elected to do .... in the current case , return Queensland to be the leading Australian state as it was prior to twenty years of Labor incompetence.
