11.4.13 NEVER GIVE UP YOUR HOPE 1 Kings 18:44 New King James Version (NKJV) 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’” After Elijahs unquestionable victory, demonstrating God as the True God... followed by the annihilation of 850 false prophets (cleansing the land of religious frauds) Elijah goes back up on Mt.Carmel to pray. There is no record what his prayers contained. We can safely surmize it had something to do with the weather since he continually asked his servant to go check out the sky and report its condition. I personally dont believe He was begging God to send rain. In my, humble opinion, I believe he was thanking God for the rain He promised to send. There is a better way to pray that we would be wise to take note of: DONT PRAY FOR GOD TO DO WHAT HE HAS ALREADY PROMISED YOU. This type of prayer demonstrates doubt and unblief. God does not need to be pursuaded to keep His promises. We, however, are called to BELIEVE GODS PROMISES and thank Him for them as we see them happeining in our imagination before they acutally appear to the natural eye. DONT GIVE UP ON WHAT GOD HAS PROMISED YOU! Remember the Scriptures demonstrate again and again that our lack of faith has a negetive delay and potentially can choak off the blessings God planned to pour out on us. Our belief in and the exercize of our faith is stirred up by our vivid vision of seeing in our imagination the promises fulfilled. Many Christians pray about something for 3 or 4 times and when we dont see (with our natural eyes) the manifestation of answered prayer we conclued God is withholding from us His promised blessings. Believe does not depend upon what we our senses tell us! It rather trust on what Gods word declares - then casts a vivid vision in co-operation with the imagination of what that looks like. Think what would have happened if Elijah would have given up on God and walked off Mt. Carmel after sending his servant to check the sky 6 times saying I guess God has exhausted all His power defeating Baal. I must have misuderstood Him... or perhaps He is done with me... maybe the lights of heaven would dim if God had to use His power to answer my prayers! Listen! God does not run low on power, desire, or willingness to delight in the blessings He has already set aside for us. CONFESSION: I will trust your WORD envision in detail what your promises look like and see myself receiveing what you have delivered as my promises from you. No matterr what the conditions look like I believe you are more than able to change the unfavorable into YOUR FAVOR.
