12/4/2014 - 9:30 PM - UPDATE When I got to Vals room he wasnt there and his bed was stripped - sort of creepy. Went looking for him and found him in the gym for PT. They were working on standing and sitting - with emphasis on standing. I watched him stand and then Todd wanted to see how it worked for me. He had the belt around his upper chest and I had to put my hand under the belt at his back. He counted to 3, leaned forward and stood. I only helped him slightly. Good job! He didnt eat so well today - for some reason he doesnt like their hamburgers. Christy, OT, told me Val had an episode yesterday while going through the lower dressing procedure. He started stare off in space. He asked if he was OK and the only thing he could reply was Taylor and she knew that was not what he was trying to say. They checked his blood pressure, etc and all of his number were OK. His BP was 106/65. She said he was back to normal in a few seconds. He was fine today. In OT, his job today was in the bathroom. He had to stand from the wheelchair holding the grab bar and move his feet enough to turn and sit on the potty (practice only). He had a bit of a hard time with this. Christy said he can do all of these things, but thinks trying to do these things in a different setting is somewhat confusing, maybe scary, for him and believes this relates to the brain injury. Hell get it done, I pray. Hope hes sleeping well tonight. No information on the insurance. Actually, they told me over the phone on 11/21 that they would no longer pay after 11/23. I called to check on this last week and they told me a letter had been sent dated 11/29. So far, it has not arrived in our mailbox. Please continue to pray for Vals continued progress and that insurance comes over to our side so that we dont have to start paying for his stay until after 12/13. Thank you for your prayers and love.
