12 COMMUNICATIONS LABORER POSTIONS OPEN This position of laborer consists of performing tasks involving physical labor at buildings, roads, and construction projects. It also consists of operating hand and power tools of all types as well as small machinery: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, pumps, power saws, pressure washers, fork lift, small mechanical hoists and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Work may include cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, cleaning up rubble and debris. The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, and skills required of personnel so classified. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Clean or prepare construction site to eliminate possible hazards; Load and unload materials, properly store materials on jobsite and at yard; Maintain a clean, safe jobsite; Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, tampers, or rakes; Load, unload, or identify materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to appropriate locations, according to project plans; Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement or adjustment of machinery, equipment or materials; May have to work at heights greater than 10 feet; Pole climbing experience helpful; Keep work areas supplied with materials and clear of construction debris; Lay conduit, string and pull cable/fiber as directed by Foreman; Assist other craft workers as necessary; Must be able to work independently or within a small team as necessary; Forklift certification helpful; Platform lift certification helpful; To Apply: Please email your resume and cover letter to: Constance Bergo, Human Resources, at cbergo@bseak or fax to 907-278-2316.
