12 yrs ago, in one afternoon I met Rita mahato from sirha,govindapur ward no -6 in her village. She knew my name but never saw me. when she heard that i was in her village came running in her sari, veiled. requested few minutes from me. Shared her story of life. At that time she was living with Domestic violence. After listening her story we cried together. Holding her hands tightly i told Rita, dont worry you are not alone ! After that she became another ally of our journey for justice and rights. She started her work at worec as women health worker after being part of my Barefoot gynecologist training. Rita who then had had not completed even the formal school now have changed like of several hundreds of women, along with her own life. ON 13th Rita in Swedan will receive Per Anger Prize. I feel proud of this ! I feel proud of my struggle, journey and tireless efforts to change the live because in this journey i have met people likeyou Rita, Sunita charimaya and several others. Rita mahato, Sunita danuwar, Charimaya tamang you made me proud of myself. gave me reason to live and work even harder and feel young and dynamic.
