130 dogs impounded at Devore last night (hoarding situation) LAST UPDATE ON THE DEVORE SITUATION: Email from Doug at Devore - EMAIL FROM DOUG!! Here is the situation. Last night over 130 dogs were impounded to the shelter (at once). We are making every effort to accommodate our shelter animals. That includes transferring animals to other shelters that have some available space., to hopefully allow the animals to be adopted. In the meantime, until we have a better handle on the situation, we have had to temporarily suspend the listing of names as Potential Adopters. This does not mean animals will be euthanized immediately after the owner redemption period has ended. Once we reach a point where we have sufficient room to hold those animals for extended periods of time, the PA listings will be immediately reinstated. We (I) appreciate all of the assistance our rescue partners have done in the past couple of days, assisting us in reducing the population of the facility, allowing us some much needed room during this unforeseen occurrence.
