17 million new stem cells..... Is what Shelly got this afternoon. She had to take several premeds this morning. The transplant started around 12:00 and took about an hour. An Oncologist stayed with us in the room for about fifteen minutes to see if Shelly would have any trouble. Shellys donor had a very high concentration of stem cells. She received three to four times the normal amount. The doctor said Shellys donor had so many they were even able to freeze some. Fifteen minutes after the start of the transplant the doctor said everything would be alright and he left. Our nurse stayed with us for about two hours and now checks on Shellys progress. Shelly was anxious last night and slept but little. She said she was thinking of all the things she wants to do when she feels better. She wants to thank everyone for all the prayers, cards and well wishes.
