17-year-old Brett Bouchard was working with an industrial pasta-maker at a New York restaurant when the machine turned on and caught his arm, severing it just below his elbow. Brett was airlifted to Mass General where a large surgical team—led by Dr. Curtis Cetrulo and Dr. Kyle Eberlin of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery—performed a series of complex and lengthy operations to reattach his arm.
