1966, The Beach Boys reach at No.1 singles chart with Good Vibrations. The single is considered by many to be the greatest 45rpm record ever released. As a child, Brian Wilsons mother told him that dogs could pick up vibrations from people - that the dog would bark at bad vibrations. Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song. Originally, the lyrics were written with collaborator Van Dyke Parks. However, some of the lyrics were ultimately re-written with the help of Mike Love. A change which I must confess likely contributed to its greater success with the masses. Heres a TV performance of the song which doesnt quite do the song justice. youtu.be/hP9vHrYpa-0
