1981 - Alices Restaurant in Malibu. Sitting there, amazed, intimidated beyond belief. Small talk being exchanged back and forth and then a guy walks up to the table that Ive seen before and I want to get up and shake his hand and somehow get his autograph. Of course I knew better than to do that. Its a mortal ( unmentionable ) sin to do that. But the guy sits down a few feet from me, looks over and smiles and tells me , nice hair cut Jew boy. Everyone laughs , as do I , and the meeting begins and lunch is served all around. That was the first and last time I ever met Robin Williams. No photos , no autograph. Just a lasting memory . I am angry in a way over what Im hearing and that Mr. Williams may have taken his own life. Maybe that thin line dissolved. The one Jack Nicolson warned actors about that played the Joker in the Batman series. Or what every comedian is WARNED ABOUT. What ever it was, I hope he didnt suffer in any way. I would have to believe that when it was time for him to take that last breath ... to begin his next journey... he looked up and said in his best Mork voice ... nah new nah new .. I miss your voice already.....Mr. Williams....
