1984 Nitto No. 3 Gamera vs. Jaiger Mascot Series. This kit is significant in the in the Nitto Gamera series for numerous reasons. First off, it is the first and only Gamera series kit that included two monsters. Bandai, Bullmark and Marusan had numerous multiple kit sets. It includes a cellophane terrain base to make a diorama. Secondly this was the only re-issue of the mini Jaiger model kit...which up to this point was the only mini kit not re-issued. Finally, this was the last Nitto Gamera model kit ever produced and released. Nitto had one final hurrah, releasing the Gamera series kits in a joint production with Uchusen Magazine. Nitto released their Yokai kits for a final time a year later. The side panel has the classic Nitto red oval logo, on the back, the new 80s logo, bridging the beginning and end of the 20 year series, making it the longest, consistently produced Japanese Monster model kit series.. For those familiar with the Machine Krieger model kits will notice a similarity between this box and all of the kits in that series. Ten years later the a portion of the Gamera series kits were re-issued by Arii.
