19But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David perceived that the child was dead; so David said to his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead. 20So David arose from the ground, washed, anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he came into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he came to his own house, and when he requested, they set food before him and he ate. 21Then his servants said to him, What is this thing that you have done? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept; but when the child died, you arose and ate food.… It is OK to NOT BE OK, but its NOT OK to stay there. When I read this portion of scripture, and think about how AFTER Davids son had died, he got up THEN he ate and got dressed. Isnt this confusing?? THEN of course, jsut like always his servants have an opinion (ive learned EVERYONE ALWAYS HAS AN OPINION ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN THROUGH SAME EXPIERNCES.) They ask him, why do you eat now? In the journey of grief, there comes a point when you literally just have to CHOOSE to leave your loved one at the alter of God and CHOOSE to get up! Does it take away your sorrow? abosolutly not! Do you forget the person and your life with that person?? NOPE! Actually, if you dont do that you live as if that person is coming back AND it only makes things even harder. It just means I, Myself, have literally have to choose to keep living and allwoing God to accomplish HIS will in my and my boys life. To get up, even when the waves overtake your emotions......................... MORE on this on my next blog......................
