19th Annual Howlin Wolf Memorial Blues Festival The Blues run - TopicsExpress

19th Annual Howlin Wolf Memorial Blues Festival The Blues run deep in the Black Prairie soil of Northeast Mississippi & the Blues rained down on fans from 5 countries and 15 states at one of the best indoor events in the south, the Howlin Wolf Blues Festival in Wolfs hometown of West Point/White Station, MS! Celebrating nearly two decades of honoring the Blues legend Howlin Wolf and his sidekick Hubert Sumlin, this Labor day weekends show was no exception. Kicking off the show was Mr. Sipp-the Mississippi Blues Child. The Hill Country Beat was inforced by longtime Wolf Festival attendee, Lightnin Malcolm and Stud. Carolyn Wonderland hit the stage next with her smokin hot Texas Blues and playing an array of instruments from lap steel to the trumpet! Closing out the show was the Godfather of Funk-Geroge Porter Jr. and Runnin Pardners. George smoked the Wolf stage with Funky Meters hits like Cissy Strut and payed homage to the Wolf with his own versions of Spoonful and other Wolf songs. Dont miss the celebration next year when we hit the stage with the best in the BLUES in West Point, MS. Celebrating 2 decades of the WOLF Festival on Sept 4, 2015!
