1st (5 *****) Review 5.0 out of 5 stars A compelling book from start to finish. I would not be suprised to see this in the bestsellers list soon. Fantastic!, January 11, 2015 By Stella (UK) - See all my reviews This review is from: The Island of Serenity Book 2: Sun & Rain (The Island of Serenity Part 1 Destruction) (Kindle Edition) This is a writer who understands human psychology so well that reading his work is a real joy! I must admit that I read the first book and found it really so revelatory that I wondered how the second book could possibly match that. This though took the first book to another dimension. It really was such an interesting book to read, and no part of it was predictable. The story has so many layers, and can be viewed from a multidimensional perspective within this retrospective glance at events that led to the island scenario. Not only is the book well written, but the characters are so well developed that we feel as though we are watching a film, the psychological insights added making the portrayal of the protagonist all the more realistic. The tempo is just right in Sun and Rain, and in fact the title is a great representation of the dichotomy faced by the main character, who goes through all weathers of emotions in this second book. It all seemed so realistic. I found it hard to put it down and it is one of those books that makes you keep thinking after reading it, as it covers so many universal themes including sibling relationships, the generation gap, language and cultural polarities and also in depth psychological issues. As a poet myself, I can see often when looking at Kindle books that brevity of language use is hard to achieve for some writers, and yet this is a writer who very cleverly manages to think about matters in such an insightful way, that words are used in a highly precise manner for maximum impact. To me this is a sign of a highly accomplished writer. Now I cant wait to read the next book, and I do hope that it will not be too long to wait until this comes out. Simply brilliant!
