2 Chronicles 30:8 Now be you not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you. The greatest obstacle to our service for God is ourselves. We are so hard headed, trying to justify our weaknesses, head strong on doing things our way. We insist on living, making decisions and planning according to what we can see, totally ignoring God’s will. God says, “Do this,” and we say, “We don’t have the means”. What kind of service is this? If God commands us to do something, we had better dedicate ourselves to doing it. We don’t get to serve Him only in the things we like to do, or in the things we feel capable of doing. The command to “make disciples” is being totally ignored today by “so called servants” who have dedicated themselves to temple attendance on Sunday, whether it be to preach or just hear. With great stubbornness we pretend to be ignorant concerning “go and make disciples”. God isn’t happy.
