2 Corinthians 10:7You are looking at things as they are outwardly. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. Anyone in Christ is of another realm, the kingdom of God. Anyone in Christ has a regenerated spirit WITHIN by which he may begin to live...if only he will. We hear of some people that they are superficial but this is merely a relative term because all who live apart from Christ are superficial, looking at things as they are outwardly, just as Paul admonished the Corinthians. The life and living of those who have matured in life, in their spirit, are not confined only to the life of the soul (mind, will and emotions) relating only to the outward things so that they begin to look at things in the reality of truth in the light manifesting from the Lord in our spirit. This takes practice in turning from the outer and superficial things and matters in the world unto the Spirit abiding in our spirit. This takes time in the proving of our faith in establishing us with deep roots in Christ so that we begin to draw a steady flow of the river of life. Being translated from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of light takes time just as a desert is not immediately transformed into a lush garden after only one rain or two or three! Neither can it be sustained unless it has deep roots established and receives of the rain continually. In time, in this manner of repentance from the superficial soul life, to the spirit within, we begin to experience and enjoy the newness of life, the abundant life of Christ and with Christ from within and no longer look at things outwardly, by appearances, but by the Spirit. Then, we no longer place any confidence in the flesh but instead, glory in Christ Jesus as our new life, as we also no longer know any man according to the flesh (in outward appearances and worldly glories and vanities). But all things become new and all things become alive because we have the abundance of life with no death in it; we have the brightness of light with no darkness in it and we walk no longer of the world, but of the kingdom of God which is now become our eternal dwelling and place of residence.
