2 of my dogs were murdered like this 16 years ago next week. As I was out looking for them I saw a large group of hunters coming out of the woods. They all denied seeing the dogs or knowing anything. I eventually got an anonymous phone call, and by the info from that call I was able to figure out that they were responsible. The next deer opener I confronted the group. No one admitted anything, but from facial expressions and quick glances between them, I knew I was right. For 10 years I showed up every opener to remind them of their deed, and each year several of them got more angry. But eventually the make up of the group changed, and none of the same people were in the group anymore. Although I searched extensively for their bodies, I never found any sign. Rest in peace Norman and Nomad, I have never forgotten you and our hikes/snowshoe trips.
