2 thoughts on each of the round of 16 match ups. Yeah, I figured I’d switch it up a bit as we separated teams between the triumphant nations and the hopeless losers. There are 16 of each. So, there is plenty to look at and consider. Sat. 28th -Brazil vs. Chile- I know Brazilians are feeling pretty good, despite all the natural calamities going on in the World Cup. But, it ends here… Chile and the riotous mob win. And the upcoming Olympics are going to be a disaster. Chile 4-2. -Colombia vs. Uruguay- One thing is certain, FIFA wanted to knock out as many South American teams Saturday as they could. This isn’t even close, Colombia is head and SHOULDERS above the competition. Colombia 4-0. Sun. 29th -Netherlands vs. Mexico- Congratulations Miguel Herrera, you did it. You made it through the Mexican campaign without having a heart attack. RVP is back and this won’t even be funny. Netherlands 5-1. -Costa Rica vs. Greece- Oh boy, Costa Rica and Greece. Who thought we’d see these two facing off in the round of 16? My favorite people are Costa Rican, my favorite player is Greek. What the hell do I do? Costa Rica 0-0 (5-4pks). Mon. 30th -France vs. Nigeria- Don’t get me wrong, I love Efe Ambrose and the super Eagles, and they deserve to be in the round of 16. Unfortunately, Greece is in another group and the Eagles drew the French. France 4-0. Tue. 1st -Argentina vs. Switzerland- Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. We all know what we will be doing. Messi will score a goal in the extra-injury-added time and we won’t even notice. Argentina 1-0. -Belgium vs. USA- Cool. Belgium won 3 games 1-0 against a piss poor group. The USA escaped the “Group of Death!!!”. Vincent Kompany is reportedly out. Well that’s just beautiful!
