20 August 2014 - Free Treatment Day This dog was brought to me, an emergency case, and immediately he got seen to... He was absolutely too weak to stand on his own, and lying on the grass, even too weak to lift his head, his whole body shaking... His temperature was 39.8, and we did whatever possible to make him comfortable and get his temp down, etc. An hour later, it was down to 38.8, and then again 39.1. He was in such a bad state, and we did not think he would make it, but hoped for the best... The owner were asked to leave the dog with me, and we settled him into the stable storage room for the night, with pillows to lie on, some blankets, etc. to keep him warm, as he would start shivering uncontrollably and crying when any of the layers of blankets, etc., were removed... On the last check for the night, he was much more alert, eagerly ate some food I took him, and drank a lot of water, all by himself this time... Early this morning I went to check on him, and he was in much better condition... I could see that he got up during the night. He also ate some of the dog pellets that was left in the room for him. I made him some breakfast, and he ate it all, and drank a lot of water. It just so happens that the owner is also the same person whos pony passed on the soccer field just more than a week ago... He was told to come check on the situation today, and that we are not sure if he will make it through the night... Our hopes are high for this boy, and I am sure he will recover well...
