20 July 2013 Exodus 12; Matthew 12: 14 – 21; Psalm 136 There is this plot that is shaping against Jesus. The Pharisees want to kill him. The reason for the provocation is Jesus’ stand for curing a man with paralyzed hand on a Sabbath day. For Jesus helping a fellow human being is the best way to observe the Lord’s Day. For his opponents is breaking the law and thus offending God. The basic difference here is between the God of Jesus and the God of the Pharisees. Jesus is introducing a God of Love and compassion. The Pharisees believe in strict and punishing God. What is our image of God? Brothers and sisters as we spent the day today let’s remember that, the quality of our human relationships is determined by the image of God we worship. And if we stand for the true God, there is bound to be opposition.
